Kenneth Marvin Sparr, 89, of Crivitz, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 30, 2019 at Aurora Medical Center in Green Bay.
Born Dec. 10, 1929 in Milwaukee to Blair and Hazel (McAlpine) Sparr, he married Betty Marquis in Amberg and she preceded him in death in March of 1984. He then married Mary E. Oleck on Aug. 9, 1985 at St. Augustine's Church in Wausaukee and they lived in the Town of Stephenson.
He retired from the United States Navy after serving 23 years. He then worked for the Marinette County Zoning Commission office as a Deputy Zoning Administrator. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and time with family and friends.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis (Darla) Sparr of Middle Inlet and Michael (Judy) Oleck of Crivitz; four daughters, Dianne Holmes of Washington State, Shelly (Al) Kempka of Crivitz, Linda Oleck (Dan Zahorik) of Amberg and Lisa (Joe) Beres of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a brother, David (Butch) Sparr.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Sparr; two grandsons, Lee and Michael and two brothers, Raymond and Harold (Bud).
Family will greet relatives and friends at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz on Friday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. until time of a service at 3 p.m. with Pastor David Murphy officiating.
