Gerald R. Farley, 63, of Gillett, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019.
Born Sept. 4, 1955 in Maryland, to the late Leslie and Melva (Lilly) Farley, at age 17, he enlisted in the United States Marines and served from July 1973 to July 1977. On April 7, 1997, he married Jean (Brandemuehl) McGraw in Nevada and they lived in Illinois for three years before moving to the Gillett area in 2000 to live on the Brandemuehl farm.
He worked for the Shawano Leader before starting his own printing business, Gillett Printing. He enjoyed cooking, canning and time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; three children, Jim (Linda) McGraw, Scott (Deanna) McGraw and Wendy (Michael) Donato; six grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Wills and Vicky Lincoln; a brother, Les Farley Jr. and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Farley; a grandson, Damian Jones and a brother-in-law, Don Lincoln.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hintz from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Paholke officiating. Interment will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery with military honors. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home of Suring is assisting the family with arrangements.
