A Funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Saint Mary's Church in Peshtigo for Fred J. Strojny, Sr., 91, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019.
A former area resident, he resided in North Pole, Ak. for the past three years. After serving in the United States Army, he lived the majority of his life as a dairy farmer in the Town of Grover and was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Peshtigo.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Strojny Jr. of North Pole and Steve Strojny of Peshtigo; five siblings, Edwin Strojny of Petosky, Mi., Bill Strojny, Ralph Strojny and Elizabeth Strojny, all of Green Bay and Larry Strojny of Oostburg; four grandchildren, Amanda Strojny (Jory Priddy) and Carolyn Strojny, both of Fairbanks, Ak., Steve Strojny, Jr. of Peshtigo and Chrissy Strojny of DePere; a daughter-in-law, Julie M. Strojny of Fairbanks and a brother-in-law, Richard Malyszka of Marinette.
Including his parents, Frank and Caroline Strojny, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia J. (Malyszka) Strojny, whom he married in Porterfield on Nov. 3, 1962.
Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. with a Mass at 3 p.m. at the Church, followed by a fellowship and lunch. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo is handling the arrangements. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
