Robert E. "Bob" Dreier, 80, of Port Washington, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.
Born May 13, 1939 in Marinette with his twin sister Betty, to Elmer and Jean Spoor Dreier, he attended local schools and graduated from Marinette High School in 1957. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1962 to 1967.
He married Joy Greenwood on Sept. 28, 1963 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Menominee, Mi. and they moved to Milwaukee before settling in Port Washington to raise their family. He worked in sales for Moore Oil, US Oil and most Wolf Oil in Slinger where he retired from in 2010.
A faithful member of St. John XXIII Parish - St. Peter of Alcantara Church in Port Washington, he helped with the Food Pantry and was involved with the Men's Club, served on the Building and Grounds Committee and was a former Pack Leader of Cub Scout Pack 3875. The couple were foster parents for over 35 years and touched the lives of many children.
Survivors include his wife Joy; three children, Sandra Dreier of Prescott, Michael (Lynn) Dreier of Port Washington and Daniel (Michelle) Dreier of Mounds View, Mn.; six grandchildren; a brother, William (Joan) Dreier of Seguin, Tx.; a twin sister, Betty (the late Robert) Messenger of Peshtigo; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other family and many friends.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, David Dreier.
Visitation will be held at t St. John XXIII " St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington on Friday, Sept. 13 from 4 p.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 7 p.m., with Fr. Patrick Wendt presiding. Entombment will take place at St. Mary's Mausoleum in Port Washington on Saturday, Sept. 14. Memorials are suggested to The Food Pantry or to St. John XXIII School. Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
