Loretta "Lorie" (Stettner) Berg, 82, of Cedar Park, Tx., formerly of Menominee, Mi., passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2019.
Born Sept. 12, 1937 in St. Paul, Mn., to Henry and Bertha (Schussler) Stettner, she graduated Cum Laude from Concordia College of St. Paul, Mn. in 1957. She married Alfred "Al" Berg of Menominee on Aug. 6, 1959 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1996.
With a passion for books and reading, she worked as a teacher and a library aide. An avid gardener, like her father, she loved her annual treks to the garden centers with her friend Pat Barley. In retirement, she had her hands in the dirt and a smile on her face and Winters up north were spent with a good book, crafting or visiting her sons in warmer climates.
She loved her grandson Christopher (Jonathan) and her three granddaughters, Melissa, Megan and Nicole (David/Nancy). She was a long-time member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Menominee.
She is survived by two sons, Jonathan Berg of Cedar Park, Tx. and David (Nancy) Berg of Valrico, Fla.; sisters, Rosella "Rosie" (Ray) Rahn of Rosemount, Mn., Coreen (Don) Blau of Maple Grove, Mn. and a sister-in-law, Muriel (Loren) Dausey of Menominee.
A service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee on Saturday, Nov. 9 by Pastor Scott Ehle, followed by internment next to her husband in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Bethel Lutheran Church in Menominee or The Alzheimer's Association. Beck Funeral Home of Cedar Park, Tx. Is assisting the family with arrangements.
