James "Big Daddy" Gruszynski, 81, of Crivitz, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019.
Born Jan. 6, 1938. in Crivitz, he attended Crivitz schools and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. On Aug. 13, 1966, he married Sharon Lesperance and they owned Big Daddy's Sport Shop, Jim's Pumping and Hunter's Glen Golf Club.
An avid golfer, he also enjoyed skiing and hunting. He was a founding member of the Crivitz Ski Cats and took pleasure in watching his boys and later grandchildren practice their skills on the lake. He will be remembered for his tall tales, keeping people on their toes and his love of family.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon; two sons, Jason (Lynette) and Troy (Kim); seven grandchildren; a brother, Gerald (Donna) Gruszynski and many nieces; nephews and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Casmier and Marcella and a brother, Jack.
A private Celebration will be held in his honor at a later date. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Crivitz is assisting the family.
