Michael A. Curtis, 67, of Daggett, Mi., passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo.
Born Sept. 12, 1952 in Chicago, Ill., to Edward and Geraldine (Gibson) Curtis, at an early age he moved with his family to Crystal Falls, Mi., where he was raised. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S Will Rogers (SSBN-659) and the U.S.S. Kamehameha (SSBN-642).
Skilled in mechanical and electrical maintenance, he worked for many years at Waupaca Foundry in Marinette. He loved hunting, fishing and camping with his dogs. He will be remembered as a giving person who volunteered his time, talents and resources to help others in need.
He is survived by four children, Jodi Curtis, Nicole Triggs, William Curtis and Rebecca (Kevin) Mentch; seven grandchildren with a granddaughter on the way; three brothers, Thomas, Patrick (Cindy) and Roy; a sister, Kim Curtis and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward and a niece, April.
Per his wishes, no service will be held. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
