Norbert Lynn Nowak, age 70, of Porterfield, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the V.A. Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born to the late Marilyn (Broderick) and Edward Nowak on October 29th of 1949. Norbert graduated from Crivitz High School in 1967, he then enlisted in the United States Army so he could go to Vietnam and his Dad & Mom had to sign for him since he was only 17 years old.
After serving his term he married Cathy Chucka on May 26, 1973. They had 7 children and 8 grandchildren. Norbert and his Wife Cathy operated a farm until his retirement in Porterfield.
He is survived by his wife Cathy; son, Matthew (Margaret); daughter, Liz (Rusty); son, Christopher (Karissa); eight grandchildren, Charli, Jacob, Sophia, Aaron, Cole, Chloe, Kylea and Cooper; also his mother-in-law, Beverly Chucka; nine siblings, Dominic, Joan (friend Gordy), Ben (Shirley), Susie (Roger), Thomas (Joanne), Duane (Renee), Mary Kay (Joseph), Jerome (Kathy) and Edward (Julie).
Norbert was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marilyn; father-in-law, Francis Chucka; brother-in-law, Leonard Chucka and four sons, Chuck, Greg, Frank and Joseph.
Family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, November 14 at the Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz from 4 - 8 p.m. and Friday morning from 9 a.m. at the Funeral Home until going to St. Mary's Church at 11 a.m. for the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial. Rev. Frederick Sserugga will officiate with burial in the Church Cemetery.
