Patricia M. HeardenIssue Date: November 14, 2019
Patricia Margaret (Bouche') Hearden, 78, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, in Allouez, WI, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She had unwavering faith, strength, courage, laughter, love and a fierce commitment to family and friends.
Born March 17, 1941 in Menominee, Mi., to Ralph and Mary (Schumacher) Bouche', as a St. Patty's baby, she always wore her emerald green and "Kiss Me I'm Irish" buttons with pride and joy.
She grew up in Marinette and helped raise her four younger siblings. In addition to helping her mother, she loved to sing, dance and cheer. She graduated from Marinette Catholic Central High School in 1959.
Her childhood instilled in her the importance of faith and family, value of hard work, beauty of connecting with new people and healing powers of a good party. On June 11, 1960, she married Richard Patrick Hearden, Sr. in Marinette and they built a home and family based on faith, love and charity.
They raised their six children,16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many "adopted' children of how to dedicate their hearts to God through prayer, how to choose love and how to open their lives and homes to others.
She loved people, learning about and sharing their stories, had a gift for creating community, did not know a stranger and cared for those in need. She worked for almost 30 years at West Side Chiropractic Clinic and also as a home healthcare provider, making each patient feel special by listening to their stories and also shared her own stories and took care of them.
A dedicated member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Allouez, she volunteered in the Parish offices, greeted parishioners on Sundays, sang in the Sunday and Funeral Choirs for years and welcomed many new parishioners, but her greatest passion was her family. She attended many sporting, musical, theatrical, school and Church events and traveled many miles with her husband to support her family across the country. Even in her illness, she brought family and friends together.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; six children, Laura (Harold, Jr.) Samorian, Richard, Jr. (Sandipa), Mary (Tim) Gantz, Cara (Rob) Fowler, Kerri (David) Graham, Sean (AiMee) and her "Number Five" Andrea Hearden; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Michelle Dulak, Mary (Mark) Beutler and Margaret (Robert) Saxton; a brother, James (Deborah) Bouche and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a lifelong friend, Joan Miller.
Family and friends gathered at St. Matthew Parish in Green Bay, on Monday, Nov. 11 from 3 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m., with Rev. Bob Kabat officiating. Interment took place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery in Allouez. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care of Green Bay assisted the family.
