Betty J. Zander, 95, of Marinette, passed away Monday morning, Nov. 18, 2019.
Born July 2, 1924 in Marinette, to William H. and Nora Topel, where she lived all of her life and graduated from Marinette High School in 1943. She married Edwin Zander on Sept. 18, 1954 and together they enjoyed golfing and bowling.
In later years, she was a dedicated sports fan, watching Packer games and following the Milwaukee Bucs and Brewers. She worked at Ansul Co. and later at Marinette High School and Little River Country Club as a cook. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Marinette.
Survivors include a son, Steven (Shelly) of Green Bay; two daughters, Karon Olson of Marinette and Paula (Larry) Durnberger of Gainesville, Tx.; five granddaughters; six great-grandchildren with another expected soon; a great-great-granddaughter and two nephews, William and Mike Topel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; a great-grandson and two brothers, Lloyd and Milton Topel.
Friends may call at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Friday, Nov. 22 from noon until time of the services at 2 p.m. Rev. Linda Forray will officiate with burial in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
