Terry H. (Manderfield) Parthie, 82, of Marinette passed away on World Kindness Day, Nov. 13, 2019 at home with family by her side.
Born Oct. 15, 1937 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Cletus "Dutch" and Helen (Dunham) Manderfield, she graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in 1955 and spent many hours with her father tending to several golf courses, which developed her love of the game. Even when she had to give up golfing, she remained a tournament TV spectator.
On Oct. 18, 1958, she married William A. Parthie Sr. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marinette. Her strong faith in the Lord and Mother of God, Mary, provided the foundation of her life's work. She earned a Social work degree piece meal while working full time and raising three children.
Work experiences ranged from family, marriage, adoption and domestic abuse counseling, to advocating for the elderly her last years of employment and her experiences helped her be the person she was.
She taught Religious Education for many years and enjoyed volunteering at community organizations. In addition to golf, she also enjoyed bowling and will be remembered for her homemade peanut brittle that she shared. She lived by a belief that "God did not put me on this earth to judge people but to be kind to them."
She is survived by her husband, Bill; three children, Terri (Jeff) Thompson, Mary (Charlie) Miller and William (Diana) Parthie Jr.; three granddaughters; three sisters, Susan, Mary and Margaret; nieces; nephews and cousins.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by many close relatives on both sides of the family.
Visitation was held at Thielen Funeral Home in Marinette on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 3 p.m. Deacon Jerome Thetreau officiated with burial in Forest Home Cemetery.
