Thomas John Marbes, 82, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2019 at JGS Health Care in Longmeadow, Mass.
Born March 2, 1937 in Green Bay, to the late Richard and Cecilia (Marineau) Marbes, he was a longtime resident of Menominee, Mi. and Lakeland, Fla. A welder/boilermaker with Marinette Marine for many years, he also worked on power plant construction projects throughout the Midwest and as a welder for an industrial compactor company traveling throughout Florida.
He served in the United States Army Reserve and enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, gardening and time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary (Fournier) Marbes; a daughter, Michelle (Lawrence) Kososki of East Longmeadow, Ma.; two sons, Steven Marbes of Dublin, N.H. and Gregory Marbes (fiancée Ellen) of Green Bay; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth (June) Marbes of Chicago, Ill., Donald Marbes (Donna) of Menominee and David (Linda) Marbes of Marinette; three sisters, Lois Kniskern of Crivitz, Annette Francour of Menominee, Mi. and Kathleen (John) Lord of Richland Center and many nieces; nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Eugene Francour and Roger Kniskern.
Friends may call at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at Resurrection Catholic Church, 2607 18th Street in Menominee at 11 a.m. presided by Fr Brian Gerber with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
