Jane Lynn Gulbransen, 67, formerly of Menominee, Mi., passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019.
Born July 14, 1952 in Daggett, Mi., she was adopted by the late Robert and Helen Gulbransen on Aug. 12, 1953 and lived in Menominee most of her life. She graduated from Menominee High School in 1970 and then from Carroll College with a Bachelor of Science degree.
In 1963 she began attending Green Bay Packer games with her parents and was one of many who attended the Ice Bowl in 1967! She was an enthusiastic, loyal Packer fan since attending her first game until her illness in late 2011 of Primary Progressive Aphasia. The disease took away a lot of those feelings and memories but she still wore Green and Gold on game days. She worked at Bay Area Medical Center for 25 years until her illness forced her to retire in November of 2011.
For over 30 years, she enjoyed the friendship and companionship of Harold Broberg and they went on fishing and mystery bus casino trips, traveled to Florida, Las Vegas, Hawaii and many other interesting places around the United States and attended Packer games until his passing on Dec. 29, 2014. Their last visit together was Dec. 15, 2014 at Wayne's Restaurant in Oconto where they exchanged Christmas gifts.
She brought God in our lives in a unique way with sharing memories of our childhood, including horseback riding, Packer games, swimming at the Dome, skating on the rink her dad made in the back yard, walking to Roosevelt school together, sleepovers, shared birthdays and so much more.
Since May 1, 2014, she resided at assisted living facilities in DePere and Green Bay and most recently at Wyndemere Memory Care until her death. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Menominee.
Survivors include her lifelong friend and caregiver, Judith L. Knutzen-Nerad and Judy's extended family who were a big part of her life; nieces, Molly and Amanda (and their mother, Jodi Dettman); good friend and companion, Harold Broberg; many cousins and their families; dear friends, the Borns and many other close friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by aunts; uncles and cousins.
Visitation was held at First Presbyterian Church in Menominee on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Jon Nelson presided followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee assisted the family with arrangements.
