Gerald "Jerry" W. Kempka, 78, of the Town of Brazeau, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 at his home, with family at his side.
Born May 13, 1941 in Milwaukee, to the late William and Laura (Borkowski) Kempka, he served on the Fire and Rescue Departments for Town of Brazeau for 40 years. He also served on the Town of Brazeau Board for over 30 years and was Sexton for the Town of Brazeau Cemetery for many years.
He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and hunting, but especially fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia; six step-children, Penny (Don) Rogge, Tim (Mary Beth) Forner, Laurie (special friend, Terry) Forner, Mike (Leah) Forner, Wes Bucksa and Carol (Don) Mieritz; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Richard (Sue) Kempka and Ron (Rose) Kempka; a sister, Patricia (John) Jacob and many other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly.
Family greeted relatives and friends at Safe Haven Community Church in Pound on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Pastor Mark Kostreva and Pastor Brian Wold officiated with burial in the Town of Brazeau Cemetery. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Coleman assisted the family with arrangements. Donations can be made to Fishnet Outreach or Kingdom Encounters International.
