David J. Roland, 60, of Lakewood, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Born March 15, 1959, to Don and Mary (Butman) Roland in Carthage, Ill., he graduated from Marinette Catholic Central in 1978 and earned a BBA and double-majored in Accounting and Management of Information Systems from UW-Eau Claire in 1983.
He moved to Dallas and worked for Sedco Forex/Schlumberger Oil where he met his future wife, Michelle Williams and they married Aug. 22, 1987 in Mesquite, Tx. He held various positions including several overseas and returned to Marinette in 1996 where he worked at Marinette Marine, Ansul and Hurd Windows. Over the last 10 years, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Diversified Woodcrafts in Suring.
He enjoyed many sports, including Green Bay Packer games where he enjoyed tailgating with friends and family. He also liked spending time hunting, traveling, living and boating on Lake Nocquebay and Maiden Lake, but mostly enjoyed time with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Michelle Roland; a son, Aaron Roland of Middleton; two daughters, Alexandra (Dalton) Munk of Shawnee, Ks. and Abigail Roland of Green Bay; his mother, Mary Roland of Crivitz and three brothers, Mike Roland of Gilbert, Az., Mark (Denise) Roland of Appleton and Dan (Carrie) Roland of Mt. Pleasant.
He was recently preceded in death by his father, Don.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 31 from 4 p.m. until time of a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, Saint Joseph Church on Carney Blvd on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 11 a.m. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association https://www.heart.org/ and/ or American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/
