George J. Marciulionis, 56, of Tipler, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born Oct. 23, 1963 in Iron Mountain, Mi., to the late Vitold and Jacqueline (Murray) Marciulionis, he grew up in the Goodman-Armstrong Creek area and graduated from Goodman-Armstrong Creek High School in 1983.
A truck driver all of his life, over the last couple of years, he worked at L.R. Vincent Trucking. He and his longtime companion, Janet Yacovelli owned and operated Tipler Bar and Grill from 2006 until retiring in 2019. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but mostly time with family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Donald (Stephanie) Lenehan, Long Lake; two brothers, Don (Mary) Marciulionis, Sr. and Al (Lois) Marciulionis, both of Goodman; six sisters, Marge (Carroll) Flees, Berwyn, Ill., Mary (Daniel) Simmons, Mesquite, Tx., Frances (Michael) Bocinsky, Goodman; Lorraine (Roger Norris) Marciulionis, Dunbar, Jacqueline (Girodano II) Ipsa, Armstrong Creek and Emily (Gene) Sparapani, Merriman, Mi.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vitold B. and Raymond L. Marciulionis; two sisters, Laverne A. Marciulionis and Macario (Marco) Cornejo and two nieces, Jennifer Marciulionis and Audry Ipsa.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 30 at Saint Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek from 9 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Rev. Fr. Timothy Brandt will officiate with burial in Glenwood Cemetery in Goodman. Jacobs Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Iron Mountain, Mi. is assisting the family with arrangements.
