Ann M. (Guth) Cherry, 90, of Porterfield, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo.
Born Nov. 19, 1929 in Marinette, to William and Blanche Guth, she was a lifelong resident of Porterfield, where she lived in the same home all her life. She graduated from Marinette High School in 1948. On Nov. 4, 1950 she married Elmer Cherry of Porterfield and they raised eight children.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she deeply loved her family.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, time at the cabin at Beecher Lake, her favorite place, where they spent time snowmobiling. She was a lifelong member of Porterfield Lutheran Church and the Church Women.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer; eight children, Kathy (Dale) Zorn, David (MaryJo) Cherry, Marcia (Tom) Leeman, Tim Cherry, Jennifer Cherry, Kent (Mary) Cherry, Scott Cherry and Kay (Terry) Davis; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at Porterfield Lutheran Church on Friday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., with Rev. Christina Forsythe officiating. Donations can be made to the Emergency Rescue Squad or Hospice.
