THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Barbara A. Brock
Issue Date: January 30, 2020
Barbara Ann (Kaszinski) Brock, age 75 of Gillett, went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.
Barb was born on January 31,1944 in Lena, to the late Edward and Irene Kaszinski. She graduated from Gillett High School with the Class of 1962. On April 10, 1965, Barb married Russel Brock at Section Eight Baptist Church in Pound, WI. Barb and Russel lived in Maple Valley on the family farm on Brock Road where they raised their three children.
Barb was an actively involved member of Maple Valley Community Church and loved teaching children in Sunday School and VBS.
She enjoyed being a 4-H leader for many years and babysitting her grandchildren. Barb's hobbies included working in her many flower gardens, sewing calendars for yearly Christmas presents and spending time with her family, especially hosting holiday gatherings.
Her greatest joy was being with her children and grandchildren. Barb was always helping others and always put everyone else's needs before her own, whether it was her kids, grandchildren, friends, or husband. She completely believed it was better to give than to receive. Now Barb is with her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Russel; 3 children, Brenda (Bruce) Long, Rodney (Brenda) Brock and Ryan (Johna) Brock; 8 grandchildren, Belinda Brock, Bryant (Amanda) Long, Bret Long, Brandon Long, Raymond (Priscilla) Brock, Hailey Brock, Hanna (Michael) Van Oss and Holly Brock; and a sister, Kathy (Wayne) Kamka.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Karen Rhode and a brother, Michael Kaszinski.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 4 pm until 8 pm. Visitation resumed Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Maple Valley Community Church from 9 am until the funeral service at 11 am, with Pastor Andrew Jantz and Pastor Kevin Kuhn officiating.
