Crivitz One Game Behind Coleman in M&O

Gillett Narrowly Defeats Niagara

The Gillett Tigers and the Niagara Badgers battled it out Friday night in Niagara with the Tigers coming out the otherwise the victors, 40-38.

The one bucket defeat saw the Tigers create a small lead in the first behind a great effort from Anthony Carroll who posted eight points. Teammate Wyatt Herzog exercised his long range shooting muscles in the first for Gillett, getting two while continuing his behind the arc success in the second half with two more triples.

The second half was a slugfest as the two teams nearly created equal marks by the end of competition. Over that closing frame the Badgers outscored the Tigers 23-22.

Over the second half Niagara's Josh Weber made a big difference, hitting for 10 points.

Gillett's Herzog was the evenings top scorer with 15 points for the Tigers. Teammate Carroll posted 10 while Derek Block got eight.

Niagara was led Ty Colenso with 11 and Weber with 10. Logan Carlson posted seven.



Sturgeon Bay Defeats Oconto

The Sturgeon Bay boys came away with 69-53 victory over the Oconto Blue Devils.

At the half the Blue Devils found themselves trailing 29-28.

Oconto was led by Preston Wusterbarth with 20, Caleb Moe with 11 and Josh Woller with 10.

Sturgeon Bay was led by Gunnar Tebon with 35 points, Anthony Jennerjohn with 11 and Jake Schneider with 11 points.



Menominee Obliterates Gladstone

The Menominee Maroon boys faced off against the Gladstone Braves last week and the Braves looked a bit peckish as they were slapped with the 82-68 loss.

Menominee did manage to build a lead in the first half, getting ahead 44-32 before going wild in the second half to put the game on ice.

Leading the way for the Maroons was Keaton Uecke with 19 points and Keagan Monroe with 15 points. Bellisle posted 15 while Badker got 12. Sartorelli also joined the double digit scorers for Menominee with 10 points of his own.

Gladstone was led by C. Ballard with 23 points and Castor with 16.



STAA Gets Much Needed Win Over Lena

The St. Thomas Aquinas Boys, who have fought hard this season but have been rewarded little, got a nice confidence booster last week when they put down the Lena Wildcats 67-58.

STAA really wanted this win in their "W" column and the first half effort they put forth showed it as they held the edge going into the intermission 40-27.

That lead was increased over the second half thanks much in part to STAA's Baxter who would not be denied his 29 points on the night. His teammate Braley added 11 while Ethan Russell chipped in four.

Lena was led by Max Beyer with 22 points and Trenton Telford with seven points. Simon Gard also posted seven on the night.



Coleman Gets Solid Win Over Wausaukee

The quick hitting and tough Coleman Cougars bagged another win this season to control the M&O conference, defeating the Wausaukee Rangers by way of an 81-54 final verdict.

The blow out win for the Cougars certainly didn't start that way as the Rangers looked as if they were going to fight to the end. At the finish of the first half Coleman held just a slight lead 38-30.

After a few adjustment however the Rangers fell flat, going through the second half with barely anything in the way of scoring.

Cayden Bintz had a superlative evening on the court for the Cougars as he piled up a whopping 30 points. Payton Nelson followed up with 15 points while Sadowski chipped in 10 to the effort.

Wausaukee was led by Hayden Renikow with a strong 19 point showing and Tristin Pollard with 14 points. Brunette posted eight on the night.

Marinette Gets

Taken for a Ride

The Wrightstown Truckers literally took the Marinette Marines for a ride around the court last week when they defeated the Marines of Marinette with an 84-43 final tally.

The huge win wasn't ever in the hands of the Marines who struggled to stop the fast striking Truckers.

At the half the Marines found themselves buried under a huge 52-20 differential.

Wrightstown was led by Haese with 14 points and Kroes with 12 points and J. Van Zeeland with eight points.

Marinette was led by Polazzo with 18 points and Sommerfeldt with 11 points. Poetzl posted six points.



Marinette Gets Shutdown by Fox Valley Lutheran

The Fox Valley Lutheran Boys handed the Marinette Marines a tough loss last week when they shut down the Marines with a 70-47 final verdict.

The win for Fox Valley was built off a great first half lead where they were able to get ahead of the Marines 35-24.

From there on out it was all Fix Valley as they kept the lead out of reach of the hard fighting Marines.

Leading the way for Marinette was Polazzo with 22 points and Maye with 10 points. Sommerfedlt posted nine on the night.

Fox Valley was led by Ulman with 24 points and Krueger with 13 points. Thomas followed up with 13 points as well.

Peshtigo Gets

Shellacked by

Southern Door

The Peshtigo Bulldogs who have ben near the top of the Packerland rankings this season, had a 61-37 setback when they were taken down by the Southern Door boys.

The win for Southern Door helps to solidify their top positioning while sending the Bulldogs down one spot in the rankings. With season end coming soon the Bulldogs will need to recover.

Peshtigo slipped a bit in the first half, giving Southern Door all they needed to start to out pace them. By the end of that first half Southern Door controlled the scoreboard with a 32-17 readout.

Unfortunately for the Bulldogs Southern Door wasn't going to give them an inch, holding onto the lead they built over the first to taken home the win.

Peshtigo was led in the loss by Cade Tackmier who fought it out for a 16 point readout, enough to take top scoring honors on the night. Peshtigo's Doberstein added on eight while Muaz Salem chipped in six to the effort.

Southern Door was led by Clafin with 15 points and Everand with 12 points. Doust posted 10.



Wausaukee Posts Win Over Laona/Wabeno

The Wausaukee ranger boys took on the Laona/Wabeno rebels Tuesday night in Wabeno, coming away with a much needed win 66-61.

The close victory saw the Rangers met the rebels equally over the first half as the teams entered the locker tied 35-35.

Behind a great effort from Tristan Pollard the Rangers were able to make enough ground over the second half to take the lead.

Pollard's second half saw him strike from behind the arc twice on his way to his game leading 24 point total. Teammate Hayden Renikow was also on target during the match up, hitting for 19 points. Brandon Shigouri chipped in 11 to the effort.

The Rebels were led by Jesse Pakulski and Reed Christansen with 17 points each. Conner Taylor got 15 points.



Coleman Defeats Crandon

The Coleman Cougars,. who hold a distinct lead amongst the M&O posted a solid non-conference win Tuesday night against the Cardinal of Crandon 55-30.

At the half the Cougars were way out ahead 28-9.

By games end the Cougars were led by Nick Teteak with 14 points and Payton Nelson with 12 points. Hayden Bintz added on nine points.

Crandon was led by Keanu Yazzie with nine points and Logan Gretzinger with five. Stetson Flannery posted four.
