Leonhard T. Zorn, 93, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020 in Temecula, Ca.
Born Oct. 17, 1926 in Two Rivers to Raymond and Anna Zorn (Behnke), he was raised on a dairy farm in Lena. He married the former Io Mae Marquardt on July 22, 1950 and they shared 42 years together. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Germany and was recalled to serve during the Korean Conflict at Fort Holabird in Baltimore, Md.
He was the Chief of Police of Denmark, Wi. from 1950 to 1953, excluding his service during the Korean Conflict. Then from 1957 to 1963, he was an Investigator and Polygraph Examiner for the Brown County Sheriff Department. The family moved to Southern California in 1963 where he worked as a Supervisor in Security at McDonnell Douglas in Huntington Beach, Ca., until retiring in 1987.
He is survived by a sister, Marcia (Jack) Whitmer (Zorn); two daughters, Donna Davis and Debra (Richard) Knecht; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Io Mae Zorn (Marquardt); an infant daughter, Diane; a son-in-law, Paul Davis (Donna's husband) and three brothers, Orval, Marvin and Laverne.
Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery in California on Monday, March 2.
