Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Kempka, 71, of Suring, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 with family and friends by his side, after a short battle with cancer.
Born June 5, 1948, to the late William and Laura (Borkowski) Kempka of Coleman, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Coleman Legion Post 280. On June 5, 1969, he married Rose Marie Tachick.
After 38 years, he retired from Graetz Manufacturing in Pound and was happiest when he was fishing, never leaving home without a fishing pole in his truck. He knew what lake the fish were biting in, but had a special place in his heart for Long Lake. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to fish.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rose Marie; three children, Patricia Zipperer, Ronald Jr. Kempka and Wade (Carrie) Kempka; six grandchildren, Shaey, Zachariah and Jake Zipperer and Kaleb, Kroix and Kyler Kempka; siblings, Richard (Sue) Kempka and Pat (John) Jacob; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends and special friends, Ray Heisel, Tom Gauthier and all who came to visit him at home.
Among his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, March 7 at Romy's Holiday Inn, Kelly Lake, 9600 County Rd. G, Suring from 10 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 12:30 p.m., followed by full Military Honors. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions of Green Bay is assisting the family.
