Steven Geerlings, 67, of Sparks, Nv., passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020.
Born Feb. 22, 1953 in Macon, Mo., to Lee and Shirley Geerlings, he graduated from Northwood Kensett High School in Iowa and received a Bachelors Degree from University of South Carolina and an MBA from San Francisco State. He served in the military and then worked with the Federal Government until retirement.
He enjoyed bowling, football, classic cars and with his love of animals, he volunteered at the Sierra Safari Zoo in Reno, Nv. He had a strong love for his Church, St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sparks, Nv.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; a son Henry of Arvada, Co.; his father, Lee (Barbara) Geerlings of Marinette; a brother, Paul (Melinda) of Columbia Falls, Mt.; aunts; uncles; cousins and nephews.
Besides his mother, Shirley Geerlings Flaa, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Geerlings.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sparks, Nv. on Saturday, March 29 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Church or to Sierra Safari Zoo are appreciated.
