Wayne O. Anderson, 77, of Silver Cliff and formerly of Marinette, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Rennes Health Care Center-East in Peshtigo.
He was born September 22, 1942 in Marinette to Chester and Gertrude (Gokey) Anderson. Wayne spent most of his life in the Marinette area and graduated from Marinette High School with the Class of 1960. That same year he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country for four years until being discharged in 1964. Wayne married the former Sandra Gill on November 21, 1964.
Upon returning from service, Wayne joined his father as a partner in Chet's Auto Wrecking in Marinette. He became owner in 1972 and continued until his retirement in 2005. In 1988 Wayne and Sandy built a second home on the Peshtigo River in the Town of Silver Cliff where they resided part-time until moving there permanently in 1997. Wayne loved hunting, fishing and trapping and twice yearly made fishing trips to Canada. He also enjoyed gardening and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; their sons, Jeffrey (Erin Demmith) of Marinette, Anthony (Jennifer) of Pulaski and Patrick of Erie, Ill.; five grandchildren, Jake Anderson, Rachel Anderson, Jack Anderson, Brooke Demmith and Morgan Demmith; a brother, Ronald Anderson and a sister, Sharon (John) Leason.
At Wayne's request, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to Wisconsin Honor Flights in Wayne's name. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home is assisting the family.
