THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
John G. Bushonville
Issue Date: May 6, 2020
John Gerald Bushonville, 64, passed away May 1, 2020 at Unity Campus, Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Mn.
Born July 24, 1955 in Escanaba, Mi., to Gerald and Laura (Raboin) Bushonville, he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and especially snowmobiling.
A tragic accident following a race on the ice at Shakey Lakes County Park in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan changed his life forever. A junior at Stephenson High School, he was left in a coma for several months. He eventually learned to crawl, walk and communicate again and lived on his own until recently. Because of health issues, he moved into a nursing home where he contracted the Corona virus.
He is survived by a sister, Susan (Wayne) Mulzer and their sons, Eric and Jay; a sister, Sally (Mel) Ventura and her daughter, Laura Finger; special friends, Paul and Pat Archambault and their family whom he met at Church. We are truly blessed that the Archambault's invited John to share their family gatherings and was soon accepted as one of their own.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, James and his grandparents, John and Delia Bushonville and Napoleon and Agnes Raboin.
Visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Stephenson at a later date to be announced. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family with arrangements. Donations can be made to the Mid County Rescue Squad or the Barb Palzewic Hope Memorial.
