James Paul VanRens, 64, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
Born Oct. 12, 1955 in Green Bay, to Gerald and Elaine VanRens, he graduated from Preble High School in 1974 and soon after started his career with Georgia Pacific Paper Mill where he worked until retiring as an electrician after 45 years.
He was happiest on the water, where he enjoyed fishing and boating. He also enjoyed hunting, traveling, riding his Harley, following the Packers and Brewers and tinkering with any projects he could find. A proud father and grandfather, he loved visiting his grandchildren often. He was enjoying retirement in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.
He is survived by his wife Patti; a daughter, Lisa and her husband Ryan; a step-daughter Timber; his mother, Elaine; four grandchildren; two brothers, Mike (Aggie) VanRens and Tom (Deb) VanRens; a sister, Jerilyn (Jim) Whitney and many nieces and nephews.
His father, Jerry preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to be determined.
