Issue Date: May 13, 2020
Ewell A Ronn, 86, of Mt. Prospect, Ill., passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, surrounded by family at her daughter's home.
Born in Chicago, to the late Axel and Tina (Anderson) Hellgren, she met John H. Ronn at a Swedish Vasa Club picnic and they were married on Sept. 26, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicago. They had a son, John and two daughters, Karen, and Susan. She worked in the Accounts Payables Department at Sears, and after taking time off while her children were young, she returned to work, as Accounts Payable manager for W. W. Grainger.
She spent many of her childhood summers on her Uncle Leo (Olga Anderson) Meyer's farm in Pound and she remained close to her extended family throughout her life. After retirement, she spent time between Mount Prospect and Crivitz, where she enjoyed weekly get-togethers with her cousins.
She loved being with family and friends, and her listening with an open heart and mind was appreciated by all. She enjoyed quilting, was an avid reader and was proud of her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, John (Jennifer) Ronn, Karen (Lee) Hettinger and Susan Ronn; three granddaughters and one step-grandson.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John.
Due to pandemic restrictions, a small funeral service for immediate family will be held at the Beaver American Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Coleman is assisting the family with arrangements.
