Michael G. McGowan, 65, of Marinette, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 unexpectedly at his home.
Born June 28, 1954 in Menominee, Mi., to Thomas G. and Marlene (Lascelle) McGowan, he lived in Marinette all of his life and graduated from Marinette Catholic Central High School in 1972. He served in the United States Army and in returning to the area, he attended Fox Valley Technical College.
He worked as a truck driver for Schneider Transportation, then Waste Management and later K-K Logistics until retiring. He was an active member of Marinette American Legion Post 39 where he had held several leadership roles and was current Post Adjutant.
He is survived by two sons, Tom (Heidi) McGowan of Marinette and Tim McGowan of Sturgeon Bay; four grandchildren; his fiancé, Kathy Zahn of Hermansville, Mi.; a sister, Mary Ann (Sheldon) Schultz of Marinette; two brothers, Mark (Suzanne) McGowan of Wales, United Kingdom and Rick (Pam) McGowan of Marinette and nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Due to Covid-19 public health restrictions, a Memorial Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
