Evelyn D. (Thurow) Storey, 96, of New Franken, formerly of Peshtigo, passed away May 28, 2020 at Autumn's Promise Assisted Living.
Born June 19, 1923, to the late Arthur and Rose (Smith) Thurow, she married Walter S. Storey on Feb. 7, 1942 at Zion Lutheran Church and they celebrated 70 years of marriage. He preceded her in death Nov. 17, 2012. Earlier in life, she worked as a housekeeping assistant and after marriage started her family and was a devoted wife and mother to Steve and Rosemary.
She had a quiet presence and gentle way of making someone feel important and loved. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing, gardening, attending Packer games, wintering in Florida and time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Steven Storey of Hastings, Mi.; a daughter, Rosemary (Steven) Clark of Green Bay; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Thurow Jr. and a sister, Doris Seefeldt.
Along with her parents and husband Walter, she was preceded in death by a son, Francis; three sisters, Verona, Pearl and Beatrice and a daughter-in-law, Marcia.
Private family services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church and burial will be in Harmony Cemetery. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo is serving the family.
