Mary Joan "Joanie" (Rasmussen) Hansen, 89, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020.
Born March 21, 1930 on the family farm in Underhill, to Nels Peter Rasmussen and Emma Emily Augusta Rasmussen (Weiss), she had a twin brother, Roger, four step-sisters and five step-brothers. She attended high school in Gillet, where she met her husband, Dale L. Hansen and they married in 1948. They were together for 40 years and had four children. She worked at the Oconto Falls Hospital and retired from Central Wisconsin Colony in Madison.
She loved to play her organ and sing. A devout Christian, she was a beautiful, kind and loving person. She devoted her life to her family, which was her greatest accomplishment.
Survivors include three children, Lana McIntosh, Keith (Joanne) and Debra Boyd of Coleman; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and three honorary grandsons.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; a son Van; a great-great-grandchild and all of her siblings.
Visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home, North Side Chapel, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison on Friday, June 5 from 5 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 6 p.m. The family requests no flowers or memorials.
