Melvin "Chip or Tony" Gering, 80, of Amberg, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020 at home, with family by his side.
Born Dec. 28, 1939 in Green Bay, to the late Melvin and June (Froelich) Gering, he married Judy Amenson on June 28, 1985 in Green Bay. They lived in De Pere where he worked at O&E Machine Corporation until retiring and moving to Amberg in 2005.
He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing and raising Chickens.
Surviving are his wife, Judy; two sons, Christopher (Analyn) Gering and Kenneth Gering; three daughters, Terri (Joe) McElroy, Shawn (Brian) Hussin and Toni (Alan) Matzke; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sandy (Mike) Osborne and Susan (John) Woodke and three brothers, John (Mary) Gering, Peter (Jean) Gering and Gary Gering.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jaqueline; a brother, Robert and a sister, Sharon.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Agnes Church in Amberg. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Crivitz is assisting the family.
