Harriet Esther (Johnson) Mielke, 96, of Marinette passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Luther Home in Marinette.
Born July 17, 1923 in Menominee, Mi., to the late John and Esther (Newlin) Johnson, she graduated from Menominee High School in 1942 and during the war, she worked at the Glove Factory. On Feb. 9, 1946, she married Edward Mielke and they celebrated 60 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2006.
A longtime member of the Community Covenant Church, she was a good mother and enjoyed hosting parties at her home, but her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-children.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Gerald) Kopish and Donna Clark; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Wendt and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Johnson and Ruth Mielke.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Costello.
Private family services will be held with burial in the Mellen Township Cemetery. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee is assisting the family with arrangements.
