
Jo Ann KnottIssue Date: December 22, 2020 Jo Ann (Saunier) Knott, 76, of Indianapolis, In., passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020 at her home with family by her side.
Born Sept, 15, 1944 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Menominee, Mi., to the late Joseph and Myrtle (Johnson) Saunier, she married Douglas W. Ninneman on Feb. 17, 1964 and they lived in Peshtigo before moving to Sheboygan, where they raised their four children for many happy years but later divorced. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2018. She worked at Crestview Elementary School as a head cook for many years, where she loved being around the children. She also worked in administration at Homeland Mortgage in Indianapolis, In., the YMCA Camp as a head cook in Bristolville, Oh. and Dry Clean Express in Chicago Suburbs where she excelled as the store manager.
On Sept. 14, 2013, she married Robert L. Knott and they resided in Indianapolis, In. (Lawrence Township) and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2016.
The only thing she loved more than her children and grandchildren was God. She enjoyed worshiping at Mt. Comfort Church (MTC), Mt. Comfort, In., where she was baptized as an adult, watching Christian programing and sharing Gods word with others.
She enjoyed her morning cup of coffee, Greek yogurt and half of a banana for breakfast. Christmas was her favorite holiday, but cooking was her passion and she shared her love with platters filled with baked goods for all. Her home was filled with joy and laughter, entertaining and hosting. She made sparkly handmade Christmas ornaments every year for her grandchildren and never missed a good Easter Egg decorating party with her tasty treats.
She loved to watch movies with homemade popcorn and a glass of wine and Hallmark movies were her favorite. She listened to and loved all kinds of music, but her favorite artists were The Gaither Brothers and Anne Murray. Her home was filled with her favorite colors, orange and purple.
She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, playing games with her family and friends and reading and studying God's word. She loved camping at Paradise Lakes in Bristolville, Oh. In younger years she excelled in bowling and was on a competitive league. She helped anyone in need and brought sunshine to all with her joy-filled heart, laughter and smile.
Survivors include four children, Mary (Keith) Pempek, Allan (Jannette) Ninneman, Paula Coffey and Jody (Eric) Brosted; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Sharon Samsal and Roxie Ninneman; many loving nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends and her Shih Tzu.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Mingle and two brothers, Ray Saunier and Rocky Saunier.
No public memorial will be held at this time. She will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
