"Stuff the Blue Goose and Stuff the Sheriff"
Issue Date: December 22, 2020
Marinette County Sheriff reported that the Marinette County Sheriff's Office was challenged this year by the Michigan State Police to participate in their annual "Stuff the Blue Goose" food drive.
Menominee State Police personnel were at the Jacks Fresh Market in Menominee and deputies from the Marinette County Sheriff's Department were outside of the Jacks Fresh Market in Marinette. The idea was a friendly competition between our agencies to fill vehicles with donations of groceries and household items for the Salvation Army food pantry.
The outpouring of generosity was truly overwhelming. Officers hauled multiple truck and squad car loads to the Salvation Army. Both sides of the river really turned out to support this event. In this difficult year with several events cancelled due to the virus situation these donations will really help those in need.
On behalf of the Salvation Army, the Sheriff's Office would like to thank Jacks Fresh Market for hosting the event. We would also like to thank the Michigan State Police for the challenge and all the officers who helped. Most importantly, a huge thank you to our communities who donated to make this event a resounding success.
