William Lloyd Wolfe, 79, of Marinette, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, Jan. 2, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center, Bay Area.
Born June 24, 1941 in Marinette, to William and Joyce (Krummel) Wolfe, he was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Marinette High School. On Oct. 24, 1964, he married the former Marie Hanson and they shared 56 years together.
His sense of humor and love of people led him to working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, first at the former Marinette General Hospital and then for 35 years at Pineview Health Care Center which became Rennes Health and Rehab Center-East in Peshtigo. However, his favorite job was as a school bus aide for Westlund Bus Lines. He rode the bus for 21 years and loved the children he worked with. He was a lifelong member of Peace United Church of Christ in Marinette.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie; a daughter, Maureen Manning of DePere; two sons, David (Michelle) Wolfe of Wisconsin Rapids and Patrick Wolfe of Marinette; six grandchildren; a sister, Mary Bresnahan; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Wolfe and Mary (Randy) Wright; two brothers-in-law, Andrew (Lois) Hanson and Carl Hanson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Joyce Wolfe; parents-in-law, Andrew and Marie Hanson; a brother, Ted Wolfe; brother-in-law, Pat Bresnahan; and a son-in-law, Thomas Manning.
A private family Memorial Service will be held Thursday, Jan. 7 with interment at Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette. A memorial fund has been established. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
