
William C. StodolaIssue Date: January 6, 2021 William "Bill" C. Stodola, 91, of Marinette, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 at home.
Born April 29, 1929, to the late Frank and Anna (Kiefer) Stodola in Menominee, he graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in 1947 and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War in Germany. He married Joyce Alsborg in 1951 in Marinette and they later separated in 1977. On Nov. 3, 1978, he married Donna Hetcher-Sindler in Menominee and she preceded him in death on June 6, 1998. He worked at Ansul for over 40 years, retiring in 1994.
A former member of the Marinette Elks, he also enjoyed tinkering in his garage, salvaging for precious metals, traveling, trips to the casino, hunting and watching the Packers and Badgers, but mostly loved fishing. A kind, loving, giving man, he enjoyed life to the fullest and always enjoyed a cold beer with family and his favorite servers.
He is survived by four sons, Mike Stodola and Mark Stodola, both of Marinette, Steven (Ann) Stodola of Lafayette, Co. and William (Cindy) Stodola Jr. of Longmont, Co.; a daughter, Marianne (Scott) Rye of Menominee and many grand and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Donna, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim and a sister, Marion Allen.
Visitation was held at Thielen Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum with Military Honors. An additional Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
