THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Issue Date: January 6, 2021
John (Barney) Menard, 66, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29.
Born Sept. 5, 1954, to the late John and Dorothy (Goldstone) Menard, he attended Menominee Schools, but growing up his true passion was music.
A well known, beloved drummer, he got his start by banging on his Mothers pots and pans at age four. He played drums in many bands including Whistle Gear and Rocker. His knowledge of music, songs and bands was remarkable down to the smallest details. He was a gift to all who knew him and brought joy with his music.
He worked at Domino's Pizza for many years and also for M&M Taxi. If you were lucky to have him deliver your pizza or ride in his taxi you would have been greeted with a smile and a "How ya doin'?" and he called everyone Honey.
Survivors include four siblings, Jim (Lanie) Menard, Paul Menard, Pat (Peter) Vermette and his twin sister, Sally (Ken) Kirt; a sister-in-law, Donna Menard; many nieces and nephews and many friends and former band members.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Menard and a sister, Jean Pleshek.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A memorial fund was established. Anderson Kell Funeral Home of Menominee is assisting the family with arrangements.
