
Elaine F. Armstrong Issue Date: January 6, 2021 Elaine Francis (Kendziera) Armstrong, 81, of Lancaster, formerly of Fennimore, passed away Friday, Dec. 25, 2020 at Orchard Manor in Lancaster.
Born Dec. 22, 1939 in Crivitz to the late Edward and Veronica (Gruszynski) Kendziera, she graduated from Crivitz High School in 1957 and shortly after, she married and and began her family. She worked various jobs in her life and also was a small business owner.
After moving to Fennimore, she worked at Fennimore and Lancaster Interiors as their bookkeeper for 14 years. An active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, she was dedicated to the Lord and never missed her chapel hour.
She also loved volunteering at the Fennimore Doll Museum for many years, enjoyed gardening, working in her flowerbeds, reading, knitting, listening to music, going shopping and traveling. She adored her family, loved being a grandma, was very patient, playful, silly and always understanding. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, good work ethic and love of being there for people.
She is survived by eight children, Susan (Brian) Horsman of Wildwood, Fla., Patrick (Patricia) Armstrong of Superior, Judi (Kurt) Volkmann of Lancaster, Kathy (Darryl) Duttenhefner of Menoken, N.D., Mike (April) Armstrong of Hayward, Steve (Kathy) Armstrong of Green Bay, Mary (Greg) Erickson of Farmington, Mn. And Linda (Craig) Merriman of Ely, Mn.; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris (Dick) Stoneburner of Issaquah, Wa.; two brothers, Edward Jr. (Dolores) Kendziera of Fayetteville, N.C. and Ronald (Christine) Kendziera of Phillips.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Armstrong; two granddaughters, Sara Duttenhefner and Amber Williams.
Visitation was held at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 9:30 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. The Committal service was held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Crivitz on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore assisted the family with arrangements.
