James "Jimmy" H. Prochaska, 78, of Coleman, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.
Born May 19, 1942 in Coleman, to the late George and Ella (Lentz) Prochaska, he graduated from Coleman High School in 1960 and served in the United Sates Air Force for four years. He traveled the country doing various jobs, but spent 38 years as a commercial fisherman in Alaska where he also worked on the Alaskan Pipeline as a welder.
He also did some gold mining and gold panning in Alaska. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his many friends, especially his lifelong friend, Ed Mongin.
Surviving are a brother, George (Janice) Prochaska; a sister, Betty (Jim) Jashinsky and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jeanne Compe, who passed away just hours after he did.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private services will be held. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Coleman is assisting the family.
