Gary Lee Amore, 78, of Oconto, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021 at home with his wife by his side.
Born April 13, 1942, to the late Frank and Mildred Amore, he graduated from Oconto High School in 1960. He then joined the United States Navy and served four years in the Pacific. On April 27, 1968, he married the love of his life Darlene and worked at Proctor and Gamble for over 32 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Green Bay Packers and going for walks around town with his dogs, but especially loved time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Oconto America Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Darlene; seven children, Lisa (Jerry) Garza, Brian Amore, Brad (Jennie) Amore, Lynn (Jon) Amore, Brett Amore, Nicole (Jeff) Sanders and Sara Amore; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a niece, Tina Exworthy and a nephew, Craig Taubman.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Amore and a sister, Mary Lou Nesberg.
The family greeted relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Oconto on Wednesday Jan. 13 from 9 a.m. until time of the Mass at 11 a.m., with Fr. Nusi and Fr. Bob Karuhn officiating. Military Honors were held, followed by burial in the Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Crivitz assisted the family
