Gerald RochonIssue Date: December 30, 2021 Gerald "Jerry" "Fuzz" Rochon, 62, passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 in his sleep, alone in his apartment in Appleton.
Born May 23, 1959 in Crystal Falls, Mi., he served in the United States Army and then the United States Marines. He enjoyed helping veterans by volunteering whenever he could and was proud of his Menominee and Absentee Shawnee heritage.
He left this world surrounded by love, he loved his family and friends deeply and was well-loved in return. A kind, generous, compassionate person, he was a sensitive soul and gave the best hugs.
Despite his long addiction, he worked hard for the majority of his life and supported himself. He was independent and proud, never wanted people to feel sorry for him and never wanted anyone's charity, except he was thrifty. No matter how down and out he was, he always helped those he met. He preferred to give away what he had and with his generous spirit, he was richer than most and set a fine example for all.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, but especially time with family and friends. He never met a dog he didn't love, had a good sense of humor, liked to joke around and made people laugh. No matter how feeble his body and mind became, his sense of humor persisted. His family and friends will miss his humor, kindness, humble ways and hugs.
Survivors include sisters and brother, Kathy Neuens, Aurora, Fritzee (Roger) Muench, Seymour, Beanie (Don Leffler) and Steve (Lynn) Rochon, Florence, Yvonne Rochon (Larry Bohl), Appleton and Andrea "Andy" (Greg) Lemke-Rochon, Stockbridge; Auntie Babe, Crofton, Md., close cousins, Mary Kay, Julie and David Thad Rochon, who were like siblings to him and many cousins; nieces; nephews and was especially proud of being a Godfather to his niece, Michelle Leffler and will be missed by his longtime, most loyal friends, Brent and Jackie Dalla Grana. He was well-liked and was rich in friends.
Along with his parents, Fritz and Elaine Rochon, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Katherine Rochon and Andrew and Ada Cuellar; a nephew, Corey Podnar; a brother-in-law, Ray Neuens; an uncle, Claude and auntie, June Rochon, who he was close to and many aunts; uncles and close friends, Kevin Erickson and Tim Leffler.
He didn't want a funeral, so instead, a Celebration of Life will be held in his hometown of Florence, near his birthday in May. Condolences or tributes can be made online at www.JacobsFuneralHomes.com Jacobs - Lundholm Funeral Home and Crematory of Florence is assisting the family.
