THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Lena Centennial Storytelling Continues
Issue Date: April 27, 2022
The area public is invited to the fourth in an ongoing series of Centennial Storytelling at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 4 at the Lena Village Hall.
Each month, a group of Lena area residents enjoy exchanging stories from Lena's past century. Old memories are rekindled, and a fond appreciation grows for Lena's past and present.
In past months, topics have included the history of Lena's Volunteer Fire Department, prominent families and buildings, and rural schools. Long-time residents Mike McGuire, Ed Patenaude, Rita Scheffen, and Marsha Kramer have led off past sessions, sparking questions and spontaneous stories from those in attendance. One story fuels another, and so a pleasant hour is passed together.
On June 1, the story-telling sessions will move to a 6-7 PM evening time slot. They will then take place at the Lena Historical Museum on the first Wednesday evening of each summer month. Bring own lawn chair and beverage and settle in for more stories of Lena's past.
