A Celebration of Life, and his contributions to the community will be held on Sunday, May 15 at Riverside Golf Club for Sanford Charles (Chuck) Severson of Marinette from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m with appetizers and beverages served, just as he would have wanted.
He passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at the age of 89, due to complications with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born in Sheboygan on Nov. 29, 1932 to Charles and Carrol (Woodworth) Severson and graduated from Marinette High School in 1950 and U.W. Whitewater with a degree in Business Administration where he was a member of the golf team.
He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean war plus four years in the Reserves. He married the former Emelyn (Emmy) H. Sappington of Marinette in 1957 and she preceded him in death on April 28, 2019.
A retiree of Marinette Marine Corporation, he was the General Accounting and Finance Manager and was also a Director of the Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trust for years and was past President of the M&M Area Chamber of Commerce, and recipient of the person of the year award.
He was active on many boards and commissions in the city of Marinette, was an avid golfer, enjoyed time at their cabin near Cedar River and also enjoyed springtime in Marco Island, Fa. and Lake Havasu City, Az.
Survivors include sons, Charles F. (Kristin) Severson and Scott S. (Linda) Severson; grandchildren and a sister, Bette (Charles) Gordon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles S. and Carrol Severson.
