Raymond Martin Nowack, 86, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022 at his home.
Born Aug. 11, 1935 in Menominee, to the late Ted and Margaret Nowack, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1954 and married his high school sweetheart, the former Kristine Madsen on Nov. 3, 1956 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee. They celebrated 53 happy years together before her passing on June 30, 2009. After her death, he spent many happy years with Carol Lambert. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War with the 11th Air Police Squadron. He worked at Menominee Paper for 38 years.
He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 146 and an avid Green Bay Packer Fan and Menominee Maroon Fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking and making loomed rugs and hats for local charities. When his sons were younger, he was a Pop Warner Football Coach and Scout Leader.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim (Jeff) Klatt; two sons, Mike (Julie) Nowack and Rick (Jackie) Nowack; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wes and Julie Anderson and other family, friends and a sister-in-law, Diane Nowack.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Kristine, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Don and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Peg Butts.
Friends called at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee on Tuesday, May 3 from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4 p.m., with Rev. Mark Laatsch officiating, followed by a luncheon. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Cadieu Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
