Coleman School Board To Elect Officers May 9

At what promises to be a long, hard meeting on Monday, May 9, Coleman School Board will elect officers, designate board member assignments for the coming year, discuss numerous possible policy changes, accept several resignations and hirings, including selection of summer school teachers for the year.
For the first time in many years, a new board president will be elected, since long-time incumbent Ryan Wendt opted not to be a candidate for re-election and is no longer a board member.
Staff resignations slated for approval by the board are those of R. Chaltry as High School Science Teacher, S. Kaisershot as Student Success Coordinator and District Assessment Coordinator, and A. Wagner as High School Student Council Advisor and Homecoming Advisor.
Approval is expected for Kyle Markiewicz as a Baseball Volunteer, a STEF Donation to the Kid's Wellness Program, the 5th Grade stay at Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya, Forensics Club, and Mrs. Delzer's Classroom Library
Among other issues to be decided, the board will be asked to approve Certified Staff Contracts and Extra Curricular Letters of Appointment for 2022-2023; for Joy Rohde, Dan Perry, and Matt Markiewicz; 2022 Summer School Letters of Appointment; 2022-23 Food Service Meal/Milk Prices; 2022-23 Delta Dental Insurance Rates; creation of a Middle School Student Council Advisor Position; creation of part-time High School Math Teacher and Summer Custodial Positions; approve the Formal Summary of Evacuation Drill 2021-22 School Year; Early Graduation Requests, and Open Enrollment applications for students coming into the district and students going out.
Opportunity will be provided for questions and comments from the public.
Elementary/Middle School Principal Pam Berg will report on Ag-Venture Day, M&M Community Foundation Future Fund, Spring Evacuation Drill, MS Fundraiser for Alex, the Coleman PTO Donation, and Upcoming Events.
Superindent/High School Principal Doug Polomis will report on Senior recognition, graduation, last day of school, and Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week.
On the long list of other topics the board is expected to discuss are student handbooks, milk and meal prices for the 2022-23 school year, preliminary budget for the 2022-2023 school year, and bond defeasance.
