Christopher Dean Carollo, 37, of Iron Mountain, Mi., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 5, 2022.
Born Aug. 4, 1984, to Debbie Wiegele of Niagara and Dean Carollo of Iron Mountain, Mi., he graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 2003 and then worked for the family business Zawada Lumber where he became a skilled craftsman.
With a natural talent, he continued to make this his profession and became very accomplished with his work through the years. His goal was to establish his own construction company which he did in 2019 being founder, owner and operator of Christruction Inc. He took pride in his work, and at the time of his passing, was working on remodeling his dream home with his father and son.
A hard worker, he was always building something or going someplace and he never stopped. His sons were his whole world and especially loved them and spending time with them. He loved taking them to Grandpa Eugene's camp to go fishing, camping and boating.
He also enjoyed going to B's Cafe every morning where he became like family and he will be missed. A beautiful person inside and out, his smile was infectious and he will be remembered for his kindness and generosity towards other people.
Survivors include four sons, Chris, Rayce, Axyl and Asher; his parents, Dean Carollo (Debbie Potterville) and mother, Debbie (Brian) Wiegele; a brother, Derrick Carollo; a sister, Courtney (Eric) Johnson; Megan Plante (William Cleereman) the mother of Christopher "Little C" Kendra Alsteen the mother of his children, Rayce, Axyl, and Asher and his grandparents, Eugene R. Carollo (Judy Erickson) and Lola Zawada; uncles, Gene Carollo, Jim (Lisa) Carollo, Joey (Rhonda) Zawada and Jimmy Zawada; aunts, Kayanne (Mike) Timbrook, Karen (Tony) Secinaro, Janie Zawada and Julie (Ken) Maes and many cousins, wonderful relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Zawada Sr.; his grandmother, Beverly Carollo and an aunt, Tina Zawada Neveau.
Visitation will be held at Jacobs Funeral home on Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at noon, with Rev. Fr. Quinn Mann officiating. Burial will be in the Iron Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated to the GoFundMe in his name for his children. Pallbearers will be Joey Zawada Jr., Jeremy Zawada, Jordan Zawada, Larry Croschere, Tyler Wiegele, and Austin Blomquist.
