Joan Rita (Ellison) Alloy, 92, of Peshtigo, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022.
She and her husband, Sam ran successful taverns in Milwaukee and Peshtigo, Alloy's Alleys and Sam's Place where she loved to cater parties and events. She worked as an Executive Secretary at Ansul, Gustman and Marinette Marine and also worked at Rennes Health Care facility in Peshtigo.
An avid bowler until age 85, she still rolled a 14 pound ball, She was a skilled secretary for Peshtigo Women's Club, and legendary baker of Swedish delights and head cheese, some saying the best in Wisconsin.
She loved big band music, bands in Badger Park, ushering for plays at Theatre on the Bay and rocking babies and reading books to the "littles". Known as the popular lady of every neighborhood, she will be missed by family and all her special friends.
She is survived by four children, Daniel (Carrie), Nick, Barbra and Frank (Christine); a brother, Robert (Judy) Ellison; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, Lila (Huettl) and Ed Ellison, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Alloy and three sisters, Joyce Steinmetz, Gloria Guay and Janet Leist.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 15 at the Big Pavilion in Badger Park in Peshtigo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo is assisting the family.
