Joseph Hrabik, 65, of Oconto, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 13, 2022 at an area hospital.
Born May 6, 1957 in Oconto Falls, to Joseph and Lorraine (Coopman) Hrabik, he attended Oconto Falls High School. After graduation he worked at Santa Rosa Shoe Factory in Oconto, later worked for family and then began a 20 year career at Nercon in Oconto as an industrial painter. He ended his career at Saputo Cheese in Lena just one week prior to his death.
He cherished time spent with his children and family, but especially with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved pampering his dog, working in the yard, and watching the birds outside his window and in the yard. A loving man with a heart of gold, he helped anyone in need.
Survivors include two children, Jamey (Tambra) Hrabik, Oconto and Michelle (Shane) Brunner, Village of Howard; his fiancé, Paula Doran; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ray (Hope), Dan, Dave and Jim Hrabik; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven and two brothers, Bobby and Eddie.
Friends may call at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago St., Oconto on Wednesday, May 18 from 1 p.m. until until time of the funeral service at 4 p.m., with Kathy Schroeder of Holy Trinity Parish officiating.
