Raise Flag"As part of the Open House for the new Bay Area Medical Center on Tuesday, July 17 a reception was held for the Business and Professional Communities. During the Open House activities an American flag was raised for the first time over the new hospital. Doing the honors were Julie Erickson, a BAMC employee and Menominee American Legion members Steve Fifarek and Steve VanEyck. Offer Public Tours Of New BAMC Hospital July 20, 21

After more than two years of work and nearly a decade of planning, construction of the new $135 million Bay Area Medical Center (BAMC) is nearly complete. The public is invited to tour the new hospital and total health care facility 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 20 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 21.

Town Of Peshtigo Board Discusses Bill Deadline

An ongoing agenda item about the contractor bills submission deadline date was finally resolved at the Tuesday, July 17 Town of Peshtigo meeting.

Chairperson, Denise Wiedemeier stated contractor bills must be at the town hall by the Tuesday, one week prior to the monthly board meeting. Road Supervisor, Mark Monnette questioned, "What size and scope of the project are we talking about, any and all projects"? Wiedemeier responded with "Anything we put bids out on".

County May Consider Adding Deputy Administrator Position

The possibility of creating a Deputy County Administrator position is on the agenda for discussion at the Marinette County Board's Executive Committee meeting at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, July 19, along with a request to make audio recordings of meetings, possible name change for UW-Marinette, and withdrawal from the Northwoods Rail Transit Commission, and setting future goals for the county. Deer Baiting Ban Imposed July 1 In Marinette County

Issue Date: July 19, 2018

DNR Wildlife Biologist Caroline Ward informed Marinette County Board's Infrastructure Committee on Thursday, July 12 that deer baiting and feeding have been prohibited in Marinette County since Sunday, July 1. The ban will remain in effect here for at least three years, due to discovery of chronic wasting disease in a 2-year-old white tail doe at the Wild Rivers Whitetails deer farm in the Town of Goodman.
