Peshtigo School Survey May Go Out In November

If Peshtigo School Board gives its approval at a 6 p.m. meeting on Monday, Oct. 23, a survey will be going out in November to determine public support for various options to either build a new middle school/high school or renovate the old one. If survey results show sufficient public support for any of the options, there could be a funding referendum at the April elections.

Sheriff Urges County Not To Open All Roads To ATVs, UTVs

Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve on Tuesday, Oct. issued a statement opposing the Marinette County Highway Committee's recommendation that all county trunk highways in Marinette County be opened to ATV and UTV use. That recommendation, made by a 3 to 2 vote on Wednesday, Oct.11 will apparently be considered by Marinette county Board at its meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Coleman School Threat Suspect Is Under Arrest

An anonymous voicemail threat received by Coleman School District early Monday morning, Oct. 16, caused cancellation of classes and extra curricular activities for the day. As a precaution students were evacuated to nearby churches. At 11:30 a.m. school busses were dispatched to take them home. By noon on Tuesday, Oct. 17, Marinette county Sheriff's Department had a suspect in custody.

Middle Inlet Property Owners Billed For Driveway Culverts

Problems with road sign thieves continue, Middle Inlet Town Chair Richard Wade told the town board at its monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 12. He emphasized that the town's offer of a $1,000 reward for the apprehension and conviction of those responsible still stands. Most recently, the Raven Road signs, including post, brackets, were stolen. Replacement cost is $175.
