Peshtigo's boys' cross country team won the Packerland Conference in their first season in the conference in Gibraltar on Thursday, Oct. 12.

There were five teams in the boys' conference race. Senior Tyler Lund took second of 48 runners in the race, behind only Gibraltar junior Evan Henry.

"Tyler took advantage of an opportunity on a flat course to turn in a personal best finish of 17:01.80, down from 17:50.17 on the same course earlier in the season," said Peshtigo Coach Keith Nault.

Jones Leads Peshtigo Kickers Past Phelps

The Peshtigo Bulldogs soccer team ended the season with a 5-3 win over Phelps, led by Damon Jones and his four goals.

Jones, a junior, scored goals off of assists from senior Cam Barrette, Adam Bauman and two from Ty Davis.

Barrette, playing in his final game at Bulldog Stadium, scored for the Bulldogs as well, scoring on a counter-attack started by junior goalkeeper Nathan Goneau.

The Peshtigo Bulldogs football team ended the regular season on a double overtime loss to the Kewaunee Storm Friday, Oct. 13, 28-27.

The Storm started off with a bang, as quarterback Cody Bultman connected on a 19-yard-pass to McCoy Walechka, with an extra point making the game 7-0.

Bultman completed 20 of his 39 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns, but he also threw three interceptions in the game.

Peshtigo dropped a 5-1 game to Sturgeon Bay on Monday, Oct. 9. Peshtigo got a goal from Jones, while Sturgeon Bay got two goals from Owen Stevenson, two from Jaden Stevenson and one from DJ Riechel.

Denny said his team earned its goal due to good awareness on the field, especially for Jones.

"Damon did a great job of beating the defender and it was stuff that we've worked on; trying to turn and take a shot. I thought he did excellent. It was well-played," Denny said.

Denny said the team has struggled controlling...
