WIAA Task Force Meets on Realignment Process

Issue Date: August 16, 2018

A task force assembled to review the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association's conference realignment process met at the association's executive office today.

The purpose of the committee, comprised of mostly membership and executive staff personnel, is to evaluate the current protocol for conference realignment and determine if the current process can be improved to better serve the needs of the membership, which consists of 511 high schools throughout the state.

Eric Coleman, student services supervisor of Milwaukee Public Schools, presided over the first meeting of the 2018-19 Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control today.

The Board conducted its 2018-19 officer elections. Dennis Birr, superintendent of the New Lisbon School District, will serve as the president-elect, and Eric Russell, superintendent at Baldwin-Woodville, was elected to the role of treasurer. New for 2018, one fall turkey harvest authorization is issued to each person purchasing a fall turkey license or conservation patron license, instead of being issued through a drawing.

Hunters can choose the zone for which their harvest authorization will be valid at the time of purchase.

Championship Men's League at LRCC Set for Aug. 20th

The championship round for the Monday Night Men's League at Little River Country Club is set for Monday, Aug. 20 when Rite-Way Towing will face off with Rite-Way Auto Body.

To get to the championship Rite-Way Auto Body's team of Tom Collins, Tom Lund, Todd Stehle and Jim Gokey took the win over Stephenson National Bank on Monday in the 6 p.m. division.
