Peshtigo Administrator States School Tax Rate To Decrease
In a prepared news release Peshtigo School Administrator, Kim Eparvier stated Peshtigo School District's tax rate is projected to decrease.
With school aid estimates for the 2016-17 school year released on Oct. 14th, the District is now projecting its tax rate to be at $9.08, down from $9.21 a year ago. This drop in the tax rate will equate to a $13 annual tax reduction on property valued at $100,000.
The Peshtigo School District's tax rate was well below the average tax rate of $10.25 for K-12 school districts in Wisconsin in 2015-16. On a statewide average, Peshtigo School District property owners paid $104 less on property valued at $100,000.
"The School District further reports the most recent information provided by the Department of Public Instruction show that the shared cost per member student for the Peshtigo School District is $1333 below the state average," Eparvier stated.
The District's Annual Meeting/Budget Hearing will be held on Monday, Oct. 24th at 6 p.m. in the Peshtigo Elementary Learning Center's cafeteria area at the Annual Meeting residents can provide their input to the Board members and the administration of the District pertaining to the authority vested in the annual school meeting.
